EXPONENTS
An exponent tells how many of the base numbers get multiplied together.
The base number is the number being multiplied times itself.
16^4 the 16 is the base
The 4 is the exponent
You read this as "16 to the 4th power."
This means you have four 16's multiplied.
16 x 16 x 16 x 16 = 65,536
Squared means the exponent is "2" or you can say "number to the second power."
Cubed means the exponent is "3" of you can say "number to the third power."
If the exponent is zero (0), the product will equal 1
