What is the LCM of 6 and 8? What is the GCF of 6 and 8?

The least common multiple ( LCM  ) of 6 and 8 = 24

The least common multiple is the smallest whole number both 6 and 8 will divide into evenly.

The greatest common factor ( GCF) of 6 and 8 = 2

The greatest common factor is the largest whole number that will divide into 6 and 8 evenly.

I use a factor tree and a chart to find the LCM and GCF

factors 6 8

Once you have the prime factors for the LCM multiply all the factors together but if you have two of the same factor only use it once.
For the (GCF) find factors that you have pairs of them. If you have multiple factors multiply them together. If you don't have any the (GCF) is 1.
