Diorite is an igneous rock.
One of the first things you notice about diorite is the color.
It is considered intermediate because of the light and dark color
Diorite also has larger crystals which makes it coarse and more specifically phaneritic
The larger crystal tells you that it is an intrusive rock created from magma
2.8-3.0 g/cm^3
Diorite can be made up of the minerals,

  • Feldspar
  • Pyroxene
  • Biotite


It is used as a base material in the construction of roads, buildings, and parking areas.
