The Cell Cycle and Mitosis

Welcome to MooMooMath and Science

In this video I would like to talk about the cell cycle and mitosis.

It is a process in which you go from one cell to two cells.

The steps include, interphase, prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase, and cytokinesis.

Mitosis iincludes prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase, and you can use PMAT in order to help you remember it.

During interphase the cell grows, makes a copy of the DNA, and copies organelles. It is the longest phase.

During prophase the chromosomes start to form, spindle fibers form and create strong fibers. The nucleur membrane disappears.

During metaphase the chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell.

During anaphase the chromosomes split and move away towards the opposite ends of the cell.

In telophase two nuclei form and during cytokinesis two new cells are produced.

Thanks for watching
