What is hair made of chemically?

Our hair is composed mainly of the protein keratin. 
In fact, keratin makes up between 60 to 85 percent of our hair. Keratin is also found in the cells of the epidermis, feathers, hooves, and teeth. 
Lately, Scientists have begun to understand this protein in our hair can be used to identify people.
