Tuesday, February 9, 2016

In this video you will learn how to find the area of a triangle using the box method.
The box method is one of several methods you can use to find the area a triangle.

Follow these steps.
Step. 1.Draw the triangle on the coordinate plane.
You will use need to use these area formulas.
The area of a rectangle, which is length times width, and area of a triangle which is 1/2 base times height.

Step 2. Draw a rectangle around the triangle.

Step 3. Find the area of the rectangle by multiplying the length times width.

Step. 4. Find the area of the three triangles created by the rectangle.

Step 5. Subtract the area of the triangle from the area of the rectangle in order to calculate the area of the original triangle.
