A composite number is a positive integer with at least one positive divisor other than one or the composite number itself.


  • An examples is 4 which can be divided by 1, 2 and 4.
  • 9 which is divisible by 1, 3, and 9
  • 1 and 0 are not composite
  • All even numbers greater than 2 are composite numbers
