What are the properties of a square?

Let’s take a look at the properties of squares. You can think of squares as the perfect quadrilateral. Let’s make a list of all the properties. This list may not include every property of a square known to the world, but it should work for your Geometry class.

Property 1. All four sides of a square are congruent. (congruent means equal)
Property 2. All four angles of a square are congruent.
Property 3. Each angle of a square is a right angle (90 degrees)
Property 4.The diagonals bisect each other and create four congruent segments
Property 5. The half diagonals of a square are congruent to each other.
Property 6. When the 90 degree angles of a square are bisected into 45 degree angles you can calculate the diagonals by using the  x the length of the side, because that is the shortcut of a 45-45-90 triangle. For example, if you had a square with sides of 5 units the diagonal length would equal
Property 7.The diagonals create four congruent 45-45-90 triangles inside the square.
So there is a list of all the properties of a square, and remember the square is a perfect quadrilateral.
