What's the difference between an expression and an equation?
In math, an expression is a combination of numbers, variables, and operators (like +, –, ×, ÷) that represents a value but does not have an equal sign. For example, is an expression.
An equation, on the other hand, is a statement that two expressions are equal, and it contains an equal sign (=). For example, is an equation because it states that the expression is equal to 11.
