Systems of Equations for beginners

Saturday, July 29, 2023

This playlist will help you with systems of equations. It starts with the basics and builds from there.

Video 1 covers the three types of systems of equations. The different types are, one solution,no solution, and infinite solutions.

Video 2 covers how to determine if an ordered pair is a solution to a systems of equations.

Video 3 covers the slope intercept form which is a way to describe a line. It is written as y = mx + b
m = slope and b = y-intercept.

Video 4 covers how to convert an equation into slope intercept form. Slope intercept form of the equation of a line is written as y = mx + b. The m represents the slope and the b represents the y-intercept of the line. Learn how to convert an equation like 4x = 3y + 3 into the slope intercept form of y = mx + b.

Video 5 covers how to graph an equation in slope intercept form. y = mx + b. The m represents the slope and the b is the y-intercept.

Video 6 covers how to solve systems of equations by graphing. You can use y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept to graph the line. After you graph both lines you can then see where they intercept and this will be your solution.

What is the difference between a donkey and a mule? These animals have been used for years in order to transport supplies and people over very rough terrain.

The main difference between a donkey and a mule is that a mule is the offspring of a male donkey (jack) and a female horse (mare), while a donkey is the offspring of a male donkey and a female donkey (jennet). Mules are almost always infertile, while donkeys can be fertile.

As a result, mules are slightly taller and larger than donkeys due to the influence of the horse.

Almost all donkeys have a marking called the dorsal stripe that looks a little like a cross. A mule does not have a similar marking.

difference mule and a donkey

Donkeys have ears that are slightly larger than a mule and are darker around the edges.

Mules make a sound that is a combination of a horse whining and the "aw ah" of a donkey, compared to a donkey that has it's characteristic " aw ah" sound.

Slope intercept form explained

Slope-intercept form is a way of writing down the equation of a line. In other words it describes a line.

slope intercept form

It's written as y = mx + b, where
m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept.

slope intercept

The slope tells you how steep the line is. As m increases so does the steepness of the line.
The larger the slope, the steeper the line, or in other words, the greater the rate of change.

The smaller the slope = the slower the growth or decay and slower the rate of change.

The y-intercept tells you where the line crosses the y-axis.

y-intercept

For example, if the equation of a line is y = 2x + 3, then the slope is 2 and the y-intercept is 3. You always start graphing using b so this line crosses the y-axis at 3. And  the slope is 2. This means that for every 2 units the line goes up it goes to the right 1 unit.

Slope-intercept form is a very useful way of writing down the equation of a line. It's easy to understand and it's easy to use to graph a line.

At the center of the square is historic Glover Park, In 1848 the land was donated by Mayor John Glover with the stipulation that the site must always remain a park or it will revert to his heirs. The park includes a fountain, beautiful trees, a stage, and a model train for children to play on.

The Mountain to River Trail is a 12-mile paved trail that runs from Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park to the Chattahoochee River. The trail is open to hikers, bikers, and runners, and it offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and forests. The trail is also a great place to see wildlife, including deer, rabbits, and birds.

The trail is divided into two sections: the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park section and the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area section. The Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park section is 6.5 miles long, and it is a moderately challenging trail with some steep climbs. The Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area section is 5.5 miles long, and it is a more leisurely trail with gentle slopes.

10 Properties of a Rhombus

Tuesday, July 11, 2023

Most people think of a diamond when they think of a rhombus.
A rhombus can take the shape diamond, but it can take on other shapes as well.

rhombus
Here are 10 Properties of a Rhombus

A rhombus is a quadrilateral.

A rhombus has four sides.

properties of a rhombus

The sides of a rhombus are congruent.

properties of a rhombus

The opposite sides are parallel.

rhombus

The opposite angles of a rhombus are equal.

rhombus

The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular.

rhombus

The diagonals of a rhombus create four equal triangles.

The perimeter of a rhombus equals 4 x side length

The formula for area equals ½ d1 * d2
d = length of the diagonals

rhombus

The diagonals of a rhombus bisect one another.

rhombus

As you look over this list you may wonder. Is a square a rhombus? Yes, all squares are rhombuses but not all rhombuses are squares. The diagonals of a rhombus can be different lengths, but with a square they are equal lengths and the opposite angles of a square always equal 90 degrees but may vary with a rhombus.
