Learning to multiply by using addition-Math Trick

This Math trick teaches you how to multiply numbers by using addition.

Let's look at an example,

42 x 34

Step 1. Round 42 to 40 and multiply by 30 = 1200

Step 2. Multiply 40 x 4 = 160

Step. 3 Multiply 2 x 30 =60

Step 4. Multiply 2 x 4 = 8

Step 5. Add these numbers together, 1200 + 160 + 60 + 8 = 1200 + 220 + 8 = 1428

As you can tell from the example you round numbers so they end in a 0 which makes the addition really easy.

Example 2

23 x 32

20 x 30 = 600

20 x 2 = 40

3 x 30 = 90

3 x 2 = 6

Total = 600 + 130 = 730 + 6 = 736

If you don't like to multiply numbers the traditional method, or you can't use a calculator this method may help.
